E Mail signatures

I can quite easily add a normal signature, but I cannot seem to add from file.
I have converted my signature to HTML and saved in a word file in a folder on my desktop, but just can't seem to get the file to add, plus I would also like to add a small picture in the signature Huh

Does anyone have an ideas?

I have searched Google for how to do this, and followed the instructions, but still cannot get the signature to add to mails, maybe it's just me that's stupid

Outgoing Mail Problem

I have "Run As XP" in Windows 7 and has worked great for months.  I could receive and send emails untill 2 Days ago.  Now I can receive but not send.  I get this message when I try to send an email: 

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'PELLC-CSB', Server: 'SMTP.charter-business.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

No settings have changed.  Any suggestions?

moving outlook folder

Hello Rafael,

I am still using outlook as my primary email application , but I have a problem.

I move my folder to a new internal disk , and I indicate outlook express theis change in the setting.

Restart the computer nothing but I don't lose my accounts. but no my mailbox

I try to browse the new folder and then I have an error "runtime error 5 - invalid procedur or call argument

Computer asus , windows 10

What can I do ?

PS : I try to reinstall outlook , same thing

No system tray icon

Hi,

I don't see a system tray icon. Is there a setting I need to activate? I do see the hidden icons but the OE icon is not there. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

outlook espress disappeared

Please help.  Outlook Express "runasxp.com" completely disappeared, and it doesn't register with our keys.  I believe a Windows 10 update ocurred, and we no longer have email access.

How to reset Compact emails count

Outlook express is asking to compress old emails every 100 times that outlook express opened.
To avoid that, please follow the steps below:

1. Close Outlook Express and all message windows.
2. Click Start> Run and type without quotes "regedit".
3. Navigate to this key :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0
where GUID is the long number used for your Identity.
4. In the right-hand pane, double-click "Compact Check Count", then change the value to zero. I chose the "decimal" value option when resetting the value in the "compact check count" dialog box, it is a normal digital value.
5. Close Registry Editor.
All done.
Having set the Compact Check Count to zero, the pop-up panel will not occur again until it reaches 100, then you simply repeat the procedure and reset it to zero.

Attachment drag and drop

When I first installed the outlook express in Win7 system, I could make drag & drop to a file to be attached.
Now suddenly, this does not work and I have to search the file to be attached.
Is this normal or it's some kind of bug in the application?

not showing all dbx folders

ive imported all my dbx folders id backed up from prev build to new build . however when ive copied all my dbx fodlers into my new identity folder, only around half of the approx 100 dbx folders show up in my outlook express. ive tried dragging them over again , synchronizing etc, but nothing. any ideas ?

When Outlook Express starts it immediately shutdown

When i start outlook express it immediately shuts down since today. It always worked prefect until now.
It is installed on Windows 10 Pro N. (Dutch version)
Any idea what is causing this?

keeps asking fdor login info

Outlook Express collaps and showing msimn.exe error exception

Hi,

We using the outlook express on Windows 7.
And it was working good.
But today we start to get errors "An unhandled  win32 exception occured in msimn.exe " and outlook is crashed.

How to resolve the issue?

Your software works basically fine, is my impression. However, as a user of both Yahoo webmail and the OE client, I have at times the impression that there may be a few minor adjustments that would be needed. 

Could it be that you have an instruction page prepared that shows all the recommended settings for users like me? This is probably the easiest method, compared to trying to describe malfunctions, then trying to implement individual suggestions for improvement.

Adding Word 2016 document in message

I am trying to add WORD 2016 documents to Outlook Express to show the entire document in the body of the message. I also tried using RTF format and can only add document as an attachment.
Drag and drop also does not work like Outlook 2016.

Does anyone have a workaround since this works works with WORD 2010 on XP system?

I am usiing OE on Windows 10 system with Office 2016 Pro Plus

OE opens, but then nothing....

I'm still using oe6_1.6.1, Win 7, and it has been working fine up until a couple of days ago. Now, I can open OE to the main page, but then it freezes...can't do anything on the page...nothing responds to mouse clicks etc. I haven't changed or updated anything recently, so I'm at a loss as to whats gone wrong. Not sure how to proceed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times, to no avail. Have also tried all the Windows repair procedures, and again no fix. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello again,


after I restart & try running oe it shows the splash screen & right after that the error message that I've attached to this msg.
My oe still doesn't work & I'm asking of your advice.

Is the size of a DBX folder still limited to 2GB?

(I actually meant DBX file and not DBX folder, but I just couldn't edit the subject.)

I used to be an OE user myself and a technical support for several OE users of WinXP machines. The biggest drawback of OE is the size limit of the inbox, outbox, and all other DBX files. The size cannot exceed 2GB for each file.  I had to transfer emails (together with their attachments) to another folder and compress the inbox every now and then in order to keep OE running without a hiccup. While I understand that MS Outlook allows a file with much larger size, I wonder if this special version of OE has the same size limit as before.

Large Icon Toolbars disappeared

My Large Icon toolbars from the top of OE have disappeared.

I have gone into remove/repair programs and there is no way to repair the program in there,   any ideas? (I have a lot of E Mails stored, so want to avoid reinstalling)

For a few days outlook express does not close under windows 10, it helps to manually close the process in the task manager
