Run as Xp Outlook Express was donated to, downloaded and installed on my Asus notebook running Win 10 OS and has worked very well, thank you very much.
A couple of days ago WinUpdateDisabler was downloaded and installed on the same notebook following the installation instructions including a restart.
With the App in disable mode, the desktop, the mouse, Outlook Express and other programs freeze for up to thirty seconds and become unstable.
Have proven it is this App which is causing the problem by going from Disable Updates to Enable Updates and restarting following which everything returns to normal.
Have you come across this problem before?
Can yo suggest a fix/repair for the problem?

Outlook Express refuses to open

Today clicking on the icon does nothing OE will not open and the process in not running either . Please help.

Running the exe in the OE folder opens the application . The original shortcut points to a scheduled task :
C:\Windows\System32\schtasks.exe /run /tn "Outlook Express"

Why is this happening?

Reinstalling OE - need a key

I have donated $20 US through PayPAL - the Outlook Express 6 Setup window needs a key - but the install process said I would have to restart my computer!  If I do that, the setup window will go away (right?).  How is/are the key(s) being sent - by email to my OE address? (dave.osborne.3@shaw.ca)  CATCH-22: I need OE to get the key, and I need the key to set up OE!

Size of "Select Recipient" and "Insert Attachment" windows

I find that the sizes of the "Select Recipient" and "Insert Attachment" windows are too small (and they cannot be enlarged.)
I have a lot of e-mail addresses of potential recipients, and a lot of files that might become attachments - which means I have to do a lot of scrolling to find the person or attachment I want.  I would hope that Outlook Express could have a (hopefuliy minor) update to allow these windows to operate like all Windows; windows.

Outlook Express settings

I think that I must have an error in my settings (incoming mail port number?) because OE shows that there is no new mail, but using my ISP's mail service (webmail.shaw.ca) I see that there are 6 or 7 messages, with 3 or 4 being new unread.  My last action was to reinstall OE over the weekend (I thought that there was a catch-22 problem re getting the install keys.)

OE won't scroll, won't close with x

Hi folks, I guess I don't come here enough. I've forgotten too much, how to get to replies to problems in the Search box, etc.
Anyway, my OE, the latest version, will not let me scroll through a received email using the scroll bars unless I double click it to make it large, then I can scroll. It's a pain. Also it won't close with the x up in the right hand corner. I have to go the icon in the system tray and choose Exit or go to File and choose Exit from there. I haven't made any drastic changes, no new programs etc., so I have no idea what's causing this.

I await your expertise in how to remedy this. :-)

Having trouble entering registration code

I just had to replace my computer with a new one.  Old one bit the dust.  Now, when I try to install OE, it won't accept my registration key because it's been used on another computer.  That computer is now dead.  Is there a way to reset that so I can use it on my new computer?

Run Time Error 53

Hello, I have a Laptop that only use on trips so not used much - It upgraded to the latest Windows 10 and lost Outlook.

Tried to Download and Re Install  before seen Restore Tool) - when gets to Enter Key On the Top it says Not Responding while it try's

Then says Cannot Connect to Sever to check key ... Try again later - I know internet is working.

Key issue??

So close this and just tried to Start Outlook and Get OESys Tray  - Run time error 53 File not found

Tried uninstall and reinstall no luck - same issue

Any ideas ???

OE does not remain running

Hi Rafael.

I had an old version of OE, which I took from you some time ago. It was installed perfectly in my notebook. It turns out there was an update of windows 10 of April and it does not open anymore. I mean it opens and closes. The program does not work. I uninstalled, downloaded the last update and installed again. Still it opens and after a few seconds it closes. Was there something to do? I like OE too much, but it seems that after the Windows 10 update I will not be able to run the program anymore.Thank you.

Hi,

I use OE on Win 7 professional.

I've tried to install the 2.2.1 version (oex221_last_version.exe) but even if the setup seems to perfectly work, when I check for the version (from the tray icon), I see that the installed version is the 2.2.0 - and it suggests me to download the newest one.

I've tried to install the 2.2.1 setup file also as administrator, but nothing changes...

What can I try to have the latest version installed?

p.s.
looking at the properties of the file oex221_last_version.exe I've dowloaded, it says that the version of the file 2.0.0.32: does it help?

PayPal e-mail address

Huh, the reason I need to have Outlook Express is to use my Australian e-mail address to receive mail from PayPal. So my problem is how do I get the Activation Keys after paying a donation to Pay Pal if I haven't got Outlook Express set up to receive notifications from Pay Pal? Catch 22. I do have my UK Yahoo account but cannot attach it to Pay Pal as my Yahoo address is in the UK while my Home address, as recognized by Pay Pal, is in Australia. Quandary.

Dear Sir / madam,
                          I recently purchased a copy of Outlook Express (oex221_last_version.exe,product and file version 2.0.0.32), and it has been working well.
    I have only used two of the keys, one on an Acer XC100 desktop and the other on a HP laptop. However, I recently did a clean install of windows 10 on the Acer desktop, replacing windows 8 (which included erasing the old data with Active Killdisk one pass zeros), and now when I try to activate Outlook, it sais that the installation key has been used on another computer and won't activate. Nothing has been changed in the Acer desktop apart from the operating system, it is still using the same main board, hard drive, DVD drive, graphics card, wifi card and power supply. Can you help me, it is the first of the keys in the 'installation keys email' (key ending in *****-*****-*****-S8AE6), I think I have used the key twice previously on the Acer before changing the operating system. I don't want to use the final key, as I was hoping to keep that as a spare for future use.
